To see in Ménerbes...

The Maison de la Truffe et du Vin is in the heart of the Luberon, in the village of Ménerbes. Listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France and built on the summit of a hill, Ménerbes resembles the prow of an ocean liner set above a magnificent landscape.
Ménerbes has been inhabited since Neolithic times, evidenced by the Dolmen de la Pichouno in the valley below which is unique to the Vaucluse. A hermit, Castor, founded the nearby Saint-Faustin monastery, the remains of which are still visible. It is now on private property.
Ménerbes offers a magnificent panoramic view over the two mountain ranges of the Luberon and the Monts de Vaucluse.
As well as Picasso and Nicolas de Staël other artists who lived in Ménerbes included Dora Maar and Georges de Pojidaieff.
